Rodney Road

94-96 Rodney Road is a three storeys Victorian building that occupies a corner plot on Rodney Road and Wadding Street, located within the London Borough of Southwark.

The existing building was last used as a bike repair shop, with entrance from Rodney Road. At ground and basement level, a replacement A class Use is proposed in line with Southwark Plan Policy. The proposed use for the upper floors is C3 (6 units in total), with entrance at ground floor level from Wadding Street.

The building aims to redevelop the existing building to the same scale. The design retains the facade with a slight increased mansard roof, which sits comfortably besides the immediate neighbouring building, while providing improved internal accommodation. As a result, the sense of scale on the street would remain the same. With the added maisonette the mansard height remains lower than the neighbouring building but provides one more storey of residential space.
